Obverse description Central field displays the crowned Hungarian arms, a quartered shield incorporating the Árpád stripes and the double cross of Hungary, surmounted by a royal crown. The mint mark letters K and B flank the shield to the left and right respectively, identifying the Kremnitz (Kremnica) mint. The design is rendered in the bold, slightly crude style characteristic of hammered small denomination coinage of the period. No surrounding legend is present, the shield and crown filling the entire flan.
