Reverse description A large plain cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quadrants, a standard type characteristic of Catalan medieval billon coinage. Each quadrant contains letters or pellets forming parts of the royal legend IACOB REX, distributed around the arms of the cross. The cross extends nearly to the coin's edge, with the legend partially visible between the quadrants. The overall design follows the conventional Carolingian-derived cross type used for fractional coinage of the Crown of Aragon.
