Reverse description A bold plain cross divides the reverse field into four quarters, a design typical of Catalan medieval coinage of this period. Two opposite quarters contain a small annulet or roundel, while the remaining quarters bear pellets or dots, creating a simple alternating decorative pattern. The legend IACOB REX, identifying the issuer as King James, appears around the periphery of the flan. The striking is characteristically irregular, with weak areas at the edges consistent with hammered production. The overall design reflects the simplified typology standard for low-denomination billon issues of the Crown of Aragon.
