| 正面描述 | Carolingian royal monogram of Charles II (the Bald) occupying the central field, rendered in interlaced capital letters characteristic of the Carolingian diplomatic tradition, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The monogram, formed from the letters of KAROLUS, is boldly struck in high relief with a somewhat irregular hammered surface. A Latin legend circles the periphery outside the beaded border, beginning with a cross pattée. The epigraphy is executed in Carolingian majuscules typical of the Palace mint issues of the 860s–870s. |

| 背面描述 | A plain cross with equal arms occupies the center of the field, struck in high relief within a beaded inner circle, consistent with the standardized Carolingian monetary reform types of the Edict of Pîtres (864). The cross divides the inner field into four quadrants, each plain. A circumscribed Latin legend in Carolingian majuscules runs around the periphery outside the beaded border, beginning with a cross pattée, identifying the Palace mint. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, as is characteristic of hammered coinage of this period. |
