Reverse description A frontal bust portrait of a bishop or patriarch is depicted in schematic, Romanesque style, rendered in low relief as a natural consequence of the hammered double-sided technique. The figure holds two towers, one in each hand, serving as symbols of lordship over fortified territories. Above the head, a six-pointed star flanked by two spheres forms a decorative device. The entire composition is contained within a beaded inner circle, a typical border convention of 13th-century Austrian and Carinthian regional coinage.
