| Obverse description | A griffin passant to the right occupies the central field, clasping a lily staff in its forepaws. The heraldic device is enclosed within two concentric circles formed by stylised lily ornaments, between which runs a partial Latin legend identifying the issuing authority. The hammered fabric imparts a characteristic irregular outline to the flan, consistent with mid-13th-century Styrian bracteate-influenced coinage. |
