| 背面描述 | Owl standing facing with wings spread broadly, rendered in fine archaic style with large prominent round eyes and carefully detailed feathering across the breast and wings. The bird occupies the full field of the flan, flanked on the left by a border of pellets. The treatment closely parallels Athenian iconographic influence while remaining distinctly Cilician in execution. No legend present. |

Mallos, situated on the Pyramos River in Cilicia, was reputedly founded as a joint colony by the Argive heroes Amphilochos and Mopsos — a dual foundation that generated enough civic dispute, according to Thucydides and later sources, that the two founders killed each other in single combat. The city's autonomous coinage of this period predates its absorption into the Achaemenid satrapal administrative orbit, placing these small silvers among the last issues struck under genuinely independent local authority.
