| Reverse description | A vertically oriented thunderbolt occupies the center of the field, depicted with splayed volutes radiating symmetrically from the central shaft, rendered in incuse style with fine detail. The bolt is flanked on either side by the Greek letters MY (M to the left, Y to the right), serving as the ethnic abbreviation for Mykalessos. The design fills the flan and is characteristic of Boeotian civic coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
