Reverse description Plain incuse square divided vertically into two halves: the right half bears a boldly engraved capital Κ (kappa), the initial letter of ΚΛΕΩΝΑΙ identifying the issuing city of Kleonai; the left half is further bisected diagonally by a raised triangular ridge in relief, creating a distinctive geometric pattern within the incuse. The incuse punch is deeply struck, typical of early Peloponnesian hammered fractional coinage.
