| Obverse description | Facing gorgoneion of fine archaic-to-classical style, the visage rendered with large, deeply set eyes, a broad nose, and a subtly parted mouth with lips slightly upturned. The hair radiates outward in thick, undulating locks arranged symmetrically around the face, framing the head with characteristic Gorgon vitality. Triple-pendant earrings are visible flanking the cheeks, a distinctive iconographic detail. The relief is bold and well-centered within the irregularly shaped flan, with the image filling the field to its edges. |
