The Perrhaiboi were a Thessalian people who maintained their own federal coinage distinct from the dominant Thessalian leagues around them — a mark of political autonomy that was perpetually contested. This obol falls within a narrow window of production, likely tied to a period of relative stability before Macedonian pressure began reshaping northern Greek political arrangements in the following decades.
