Stymphalos, an Arcadian city best known from myth as the site of Heracles' sixth labor, struck its own coinage only briefly in the fourth century BC before being absorbed into the Achaean League's monetary system. The city's independent issues are rare across all denominations, and the obol — the smallest unit struck — survives in genuinely limited numbers. SNG Copenhagen 286 represents one of the better-documented specimens of this type.
