Obverse description Helmeted draped bust of a deity facing right, rendered in the local Gallic-Roman style. The helmet is of Greek type, adorned with a crest, and covers the upper portion of the head. The facial features are schematically rendered in the native Gaulish tradition, with a prominent nose and defined cheekbone visible in profile. The neck and shoulder are draped, with the garment indicated by incised lines. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hand-struck provincial issues.

Reverse description Colonial civic legend NEM COL (Nemausus Colonia) inscribed in two lines within a beaded oval wreath of laurel or olive branches. The wreath is carefully rendered with opposing pairs of leaves tied at the base, enclosing the abbreviated Latin inscription that identifies the issuing colony of Nemausus (modern Nîmes). A small globule appears below the wreath at the base of the flan. The lettering is in bold, well-spaced Latin capitals.
