Aanvullende informatie

Soloi was one of the most prosperous Greek foundations along the Cilician coast, traditionally attributed to settlers from Rhodes and Lindos, though its coinage reflects strong Athenian commercial influence during exactly this period. The city's silver fractions circulated within a regional trading network that connected Cilician timber and linen exports to Aegean markets — small denominations like this obol doing the everyday work that larger silver could not.

The SNG von Aulock specimen provides the primary die reference for this type, drawn from one of the most systematically assembled collections of Asia Minor coinage ever cataloged.
