| Obverse description | Forepart of a bridled horse advancing to the right, rendered in vigorous archaic relief. The horse's head is lowered with the bridle clearly delineated, and its forelegs are raised in a striding pose. The design fills the compact flan in a bold, if somewhat crude, early Classical style characteristic of Thessalian coinage of the period. |
