Methylion was a minor Thessalian community whose coinage output was limited enough that specimens turn up almost exclusively in regional hoards rather than through trade circulation. The BCD collection, assembled by a single anonymous European collector over decades, remains the primary reference point for this series — the lot numbering in BCD Thessaly II effectively defines what most dealers and auction houses treat as canonical for coins of this type.
