| Obverse description | Draped bust of Hera facing right, her hair elaborately bound beneath a low polos or stephanos, rendered in fine archaic-transitional Greek style. The facial features are delicately modeled with a prominent nose and full lips characteristic of Elean coinage. The neck is bare and the portrait fills the flan with confidence typical of 4th-century BC Olympian workshop engravers. |
