Euro Souvenir notes are a French-driven commercial format — privately issued, not legal tender anywhere — sold primarily at tourist sites and cultural attractions across Europe. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints the bulk of the series, handling security paper, serial numbering, and the kind of production finish that makes these things feel authoritative despite having no monetary function whatsoever. The Slovak edition entered the catalogue in 2022, part of a broader push by regional tourist boards to offer something more tangible than a refrigerator magnet.
