Reverse description The emperor Vetranio stands facing, head turned to the left, depicted diademed, draped, and cuirassed, holding a legionary standard surmounted by a Chi-Rho (Christogram) banner in each hand, asserting both imperial and Christian authority over the military. A star appears in the upper field above the emperor's head, symbolising divine favour. The letter A is placed in the left field and B in the right field, denoting workshop sub-variants within the officina sequence. The reverse legend CONCORDIA MILITVM encircles the composition, proclaiming harmony between the emperor and his troops, a politically charged message reflecting Vetranio's need to legitimise his brief usurpation. The mintmark, flanked by dots, appears in the exergue.
