Obverse description Right-facing pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valentinian I, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair, diadem pearls, and paludamentum fastening at the shoulder. The effigy displays the characteristic late Roman imperial portrait style, with a strong facial profile and layered military dress visible at the truncation. The circumferential Latin legend is incuse against a plain field, running from lower left to upper right around the portrait.
