Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Valentinian I, rendered in the military portrait style characteristic of the late Roman Valentinianic period. The emperor is shown pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, with finely articulated paludamentum folds visible at the shoulder. The effigy displays bold, slightly stylized facial features typical of Siscia mint workmanship. The encircling Latin legend reads D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG, interrupted by the bust, running from lower left to upper right around the obverse field.
