正面描述	Right-facing pearl-diademed bust of Valentinian I, depicted draped and cuirassed, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the characteristic late Roman imperial style, with a strongly modelled profile and closely cropped beard. The obverse legend encircles the bust, reading from the lower left in a continuous Latin inscription across the upper field.
