| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Emperor Valentinian II, rendered in the late Roman imperial style typical of the Theodosian period. The emperor is depicted pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, with the effigy occupying the central field. The circumferential legend D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG runs around the bust, partially visible on this worn example.
