| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Theodosius II, adorned with a pearl diadem, rendered in the late antique imperial style characteristic of fifth-century Eastern Roman coinage. The emperor's effigy is depicted with simplified, stylized features typical of small bronze issues of this period. The obverse legend, partially visible around the bust, reads D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The flan is irregular and slightly holed, consistent with a well-circulated or repurposed AE4 nummus. |
