Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Theodosius I, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial style typical of the Theodosian period. The emperor's effigy is depicted with characteristic late antique stylization, with the pearl diadem clearly delineated across the brow. The draped paludamentum falls over the cuirass, conveying both military authority and imperial dignity. The circumferential Latin legend reads D N THEODO-SIVS P F AVG, distributed around the obverse field.
