Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Severus II as Caesar facing right, shown with short beard and draped paludamentum visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in the late Tetrarchic style, with bold, schematic facial features characteristic of the Diocletianic reform coinage. The encircling legend reads SEVERVS NOBILISSIMVS C, distributed around the bust within a beaded border.
