Reverse description Central field bearing a monogram or abbreviated legend, struck in low relief on a small, irregularly shaped bronze flan typical of late antique nummi. The design is crudely executed, consistent with the debased coinage of the Odovacar period at Ravenna. The reverse monogram or legend reference echoes the obverse in identifying the ruler, following the convention of barbarian successor-state coinages derived from late Roman prototypes. The surfaces show significant wear and corrosion, as expected for bronze issues of this period.
