| Beschrijving voorzijde | Veiled and laureate head of the deified Maximianus (Divus Maximianus) facing right, rendered in late Roman imperial style with fine drapery detail at the shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the portrait in Latin capitals, proclaiming his divine status and titles. The veiling is characteristic of posthumous consecratio coinage, signifying apotheosis. The portrait is executed in relatively high relief for a nummus of this small module, with expressive facial features consistent with Siscia mint workmanship of the Constantinian period. |
