| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Maximianus facing right, rendered with bold late-antique portraiture. The emperor wears a segmented cuirass with scale or lorica detailing visible at the shoulder, and a paludamentum (military cloak) secured at the right shoulder. The facial features are strongly modelled, with a short beard and pronounced brow characteristic of Tetrarchic coinage. The obverse legend IMP MAXIMIANVS AVG runs clockwise around the beaded border. |
