| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximianus facing right, rendered in the characteristically large, broad-headed style associated with the Londinium mint of the Tetrarchic period. The emperor's powerful physiognomy is rendered with pronounced facial features, a short beard, and a radiate laurel wreath of pronounced prongs, conveying imperial authority and military gravitas. The cuirass is depicted in detail at the truncation, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder.
