| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed bust of Maximianus facing right, rendered with bold, naturalistic modelling characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The emperor's bearded visage is depicted with pronounced facial features, the laurel wreath seated firmly upon his brow. The muscled cuirass is visible at the truncation, and a paludamentum (military cloak) is draped over the left shoulder. The encircling legend IMP MAXIMIANVS P AVG runs clockwise within a beaded border. |

| Reverse description | The Genius of the Roman People (Genius Populi Romani) stands facing left in a frontal composition, depicted nude but for a chlamys draped over his left shoulder. He wears a modius (grain measure) upon his head, symbolising abundance and civic plenty. In his outstretched right hand he holds a patera for libation, while his left hand grasps a cornucopiae overflowing with fruits. The legend GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI is disposed in two sections flanking the figure, within a beaded border; no mintmark appears in the exergue, consistent with RIC VI 26b for the Londinium mint. |
