| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Licinius II as Caesar facing right, depicted in a youthful portrait style characteristic of early fourth-century Tetrarchic and post-Tetrarchic coinage. The effigy shows the young prince with short-cropped hair and a slightly rounded juvenile face, rendered with modest relief. The encircling Latin obverse legend reads LICINIVS IVN NOB CAES, identifying him as Licinius the Younger, Noble Caesar. The coin's surface retains traces of its original silvery wash, typical of the period's nummi. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck production at the Thessalonica mint. |
