正面描述 Laureate bust of Licinius I facing right, draped and cuirassed, with finely rendered hair visible beneath the wreath. The emperor is portrayed with a strong, slightly idealized profile in the Tetrarchic style. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C VAL LIC LICINIVS PF AVG, identifying the emperor as Imperator Caesar Valerius Licinianus Licinius, Pius Felix Augustus.

附加信息

Licinius I struck this type heavily at Thessalonica in the years immediately following the Edict of Milan, during which he and Constantine briefly governed as co-emperors before their relationship collapsed into open warfare by 316. The IOVI CONSERVATORI reverse was Licinius's ideological signature — he leaned emphatically on Jupiter as divine protector while Constantine was already gravitating toward Christian patronage, making the two emperors' coin types an inadvertent record of the religious fault line splitting the empire.

RIC VI 49A is among the more frequently documented issues from the Thessalonica mint of this period, the officina letter in the exergue placing individual pieces within the workshop sequence.
