| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped bust of Licinius I facing left, with the emperor holding a sceptre in his right hand and a mappa in his left hand, rendered in the late Roman imperial portrait style. The effigy presents Licinius in full ceremonial regalia, conveying imperial authority through the combination of the laurel wreath and consular attributes. The obverse legend is disposed in two segments around the bust, reading IMP LICI-NIVS AVG, identifying the emperor as supreme commander and Augustus. The portrait style is characteristic of the Tetrarchic and early Constantinian period, with schematic facial features typical of the Antioch mint workshop. |
