| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of Licinius I facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial portrait style with strong facial features and a short beard. The emperor's effigy is depicted with a laurel wreath tightly bound about the head, with individual leaf tips clearly articulated. The portrait occupies the full field of the flan, with the legend disposed around the periphery in Latin capital letters. The truncation of the neck is plain, without drapery or paludamentum. The engraving exhibits the characteristic bold, somewhat stylized treatment of the Antioch mint in the Tetrarchic period. |
