Obverse description Bareheaded bust of Julian II as Caesar facing right, draped and cuirassed, with finely rendered paludamentum over the left shoulder and layered cuirass visible at the truncation. The portrait is youthful in character, consistent with Julian's depiction during his Caesarship, exhibiting close-cropped hair rendered in low relief. The obverse legend runs clockwise around the beaded border, identifying the subject by his full titulature.
