Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Julian II facing right, wearing a pearl diadem. The imperial effigy is rendered in the late Roman style with fine engraving detail on the cuirass and drapery visible at the shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the portrait field, reading D N IVLIANVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor with his titles of Pius Felix Augustus. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, consistent with the small module nummus coinage of the period.
