Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Jovianus facing left, wearing a pearl diadem. The effigy displays characteristic late Roman imperial portraiture with elaborately rendered hair and fibula-fastened paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend DN IOVIANVS P F AVG reads 'Our Lord Jovianus, Pious and Fortunate Augustus.' A beaded border frames the entire obverse field.
