Obverse description Right-facing bust of the Eastern Emperor Zeno, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in a crude, stylized manner characteristic of late Vandal coinage struck at Carthage. The effigy is executed in low relief with simplified facial features, the diadem visible above the brow, and drapery folds suggested on the shoulder.

Reverse description Central field bearing the monogram of Emperor Zeno, enclosed within a beaded or laurel wreath. The monogram, composed of interlaced Greek letters forming the name ZHNON, is rendered in the coarse, abbreviated style typical of Vandal pseudo-imperial issues struck at the Carthage mint during the late fifth century.
