Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gratianus facing right, with a pearl diadem visible along the crown of the head. The portrait displays the characteristic late Roman imperial style with a slightly idealized rendering. The obverse legend runs clockwise around the bust, interrupted by the neck truncation. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of late Roman aes coinage of this period.
