Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Galerius (here styled as Maximianus) facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair and a short beard. The emperor wears a paludamentum over plate armour, with the cuirass shoulder-guard visible at the bust truncation. The portrait displays the robust, military character typical of Tetrarchic coinage from the Londinium mint. The encircling obverse legend is incuse in Latin capital letters, divided by the portrait, reading IMP C MAXIMIANVS P F AVG.
