Fausta's SPES REIPVBLICAE coinage dates to a politically charged moment: she was executed on Constantine's orders in 326 AD, almost certainly the same year this type was still being struck. The exact charge — adultery, or a fabricated accusation following her reported role in the death of Crispus — remains debated, but the consequence was immediate damnatio memoriae. Coins bearing her image were not officially recalled, which is why they survive at all, but new issues ceased abruptly at her death.
