| Descrizione del rovescio | The Genius of the Roman People stands facing left in the centre of the field, depicted nude save for a chlamys draped over his left shoulder and a modius (grain measure) atop his head, symbolising abundance and civic prosperity. In his extended right hand he pours a libation from a patera, while his left hand holds a cornucopiae overflowing with fruit. The reverse legend GENIO POPV-L-I ROMANI is distributed across the field in two lines flanking the figure. The mintmark, identifying the Thessalonica mint and officina, appears in the exergue between two dots. |
