| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Dalmatius as Caesar facing right, depicted in the Constantinian military style with detailed layered pauldrons and cuirass visible at the shoulder. The effigy conveys youthful imperial authority befitting a Caesar of the dynasty. The obverse legend FL DELMATIVS NOB C runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the subject as Flavius Delmatius, Most Noble Caesar. The flan is somewhat irregular, as is characteristic of the hammered small bronze coinage of this period. A beaded border frames the design. |
