| Obverse description | Bust of Crispus facing left, laureate, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in the typical Constantinian military portrait style. The laureate wreath is clearly articulated across the brow, while the paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder and the lorica segmentata is indicated by incised diagonal striations across the chest. The portrait exhibits the youthful, idealised features characteristic of Crispus's coinage from the Thessalonica mint. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise within a beaded border. |
