| 背面描述 | Within a laurel wreath tied at the base with a decorative motif and surmounted by a pellet, the votive inscription VOT X appears in two lines within the wreath field, signifying the celebration of Crispus's decennial vows. The surrounding circular legend CAESARVM NOSTRORVM encircles the wreath, a genitive plural formula honouring the Caesars of the imperial college. The mint mark PLGC appears in the exergue, denoting the first officina of the Lugdunum mint. |

| 附加信息 |
Crispus, Constantine's eldest son and a capable general who had recently crushed Licinius's fleet at the Hellespont in 324, was at this exact moment approaching the peak of his influence — which made his sudden execution in 326 all the more shocking. Constantine had him put to death at Pola, almost certainly on the orders or urging of his second wife Fausta, who was then herself killed shortly after. Every official portrait and inscription honoring Crispus was subsequently destroyed in a damnatio memoriae, making coins struck in his name the primary surviving evidence of his existence as Caesar.
Lugdunum's RIC VII 215 belongs to the very last phase of Crispus coinage before that erasure.
