| 裏面の説明 | Two winged Victories, draped and facing one another, jointly support an inscribed votive shield resting upon an altar; within the square frame of the altar a wreath is depicted. The field legend VICTORIAE LAETAE PRINC PERP appears around the design, while the divided legend VOT/PR occupies the shield face. The mintmark in the exergue identifies the Siscia mint workshop. The composition reflects the Constantinian Victory type widely issued across western mints in AD 319. |

Crispus was Constantine I's eldest son, born of his concubine Minervina and elevated to Caesar in 317 AD. He would go on to distinguish himself commanding the Rhine frontier and later defeating Licinius's fleet at the Hellespont in 324 — making his execution the following year, ordered by his own father under circumstances still debated by historians, one of the more jarring episodes in late imperial dynastic politics. This issue predates all of that, struck when his prospects were bright.
The Siscia mint was among the most prolific producers of the VICTORIAE LAETAE PRINC PERP type following the Edict of Serdica in 317. RIC VII 66 is a relatively common officina product from that output.
