| 背面描述 | Within a laurel wreath, the votive inscription VOT XX MVLT XXX is displayed in four lines across the field, commemorating Constantius II's twentieth regnal anniversary with prayers for his thirtieth. The wreath is tied at the base with a pellet or knot device. The mint mark SMNΔ appears in the exergue, denoting the fourth officina of the Nicomedia mint. A circular border of dots frames the design, and a faint outer legend is present around the wreath on some specimens, consistent with RIC VIII 50. |

The VOT XX MVLT XXX legend places this issue precisely within the *decennalia* vow cycle — Constantius II had completed twenty years of rule (counting from his elevation as Caesar in 324) and was formally vowing the next decade. These vow coinages were struck simultaneously across multiple eastern mints in 347–348 as part of a coordinated empire-wide issue, one of the last moments of genuine administrative unity before the sons of Constantine began tearing the empire apart. Nicomedia was then still a functioning imperial capital, Diocletian's old seat.
