| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantius II facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style typical of the Constantinian period. The laureate wreath is clearly articulated with radiating leaves, and the paludamentum (military cloak) is visible at the shoulder. The circumferential legend runs clockwise around the bust within a beaded border. The portrait conveys the youthful features of Constantius II in his role as Caesar, with fine die-engraving characteristic of the Arelate mint. |
