| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Emperor Constantius II, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial portrait style characteristic of the Thessalonica mint. The effigy displays carefully delineated paludamentum folds over the cuirass, with the pearl diadem visible across the brow. The surrounding border consists of a beaded or dotted inner circle. The Latin obverse legend D N CONSTANTIVS P F AVG — reading ‘Our Lord Constantius, Pious and Fortunate Augustus’ — runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. |
